Stanford Medicine researchers found that blocking a single immune receptor on tissue-resident macrophages restored their ability to clear senescent neutrophils, reducing inflammation and maintaining youthful function across multiple organs in aged mice. The intervention protected mice from frailty, excess fat accumulation, heart trouble, and substantially reduced cognitive decline.
